In 2017 Elizabeth Masu (formerly Shearer) established the Australian independent enterprise Miss Zella Shear.
The theatrical cabaret BITE ME BUT SMILE was written and produced shortly after, with the protagonist of course of the same namesake Miss Zella Shear. Following seasons at Adelaide Fringe Festival, Sydney Fringe Festival and Brisbane Wonderland Festival with this work, Elizabeth wrote and produced a second one woman show BIRD BE CRAZY. This premiered at the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2021 and then had a season at the Fringe Brisbane Festival 2022 with positive reviews. Her works have been created to be enjoyed as stand alone experiences or as a sequel journey. Watch the space as the third instalment is currently being created POP GOES ZELLA….
BIRD BE CRAZY: Think ‘The Good Place’ meets Hitchcock’s ‘Birds’
Cute but a psycho, the loveable narcissist Miss Zella Shear is back from the dead (well sort of) for a new one woman show. Stuck in limbo she needs all her absurdist tricks and the audience’s help in order to face her fears and get to the other side.
Is it a halo or a warmer climate that awaits her?
Music Mashups, Buffoonish Burlesque, Operatic Outbursts, Cabaret Chaos from this singing Diva.

BITE ME BUT SMILE: ‘Bridget Jones’ meets ‘The Play That Goes Wrong’ in Cabaret form.
A singers quest for happiness post break-up, leads her to a bottle of red wine & filthy kebab. A kebab that has the power to destroy her, if she doesn’t keep in line. The loveable & wacky narcissist Miss Zella Shear wants to do it all – Opera, Jazz, Pop, Weimar Kabarett & Burlesque all aided by her bag of absurdist tricks. She contemplates love & existence, going on a journey that involves songs, audience participation, costume changes, slapstick & eating, sometimes all at the same time.
